The online cloud service is an easy, optional way to use Thumbrella. The online
service is designed to be the simplest way to get started, it also provides
additional value to self hosted or other ways to run the service.
The primary use of Thumbrella Cloud is intended to be free and immediately
useful.

Paid accounts run on dedicated servers for faster responses. Accounts get
vastly expanded usage quotas.
Paid accounts can subdivide their usage into separate authentication tokens
with their own limits and permissions.

There are two measurements of a Thumbrella Cloud account.
- Cache - the amount and lifetime of preserved thumbnails in the global,
distributed edge caching.
- Render - the amount of thumbnails processed by the server. Quotas
prevent new thumbnails from generating for media. Although Thumbrella always
provides placeholder thumbnails for any request, even over quota.
Each thumbnail is usually between 5kb - 10kb in size. Not all thumbnails are
charged at the same rate. See the cloud pages for more details.
-
Thumbrella is easy to serve and host on your own. The open source server is
ready to run immediately with a single command. See the server
documentation for details.
-
AI platforms (coming soon). Specially deployed Thumbrella servers are
available on hosted platforms like fal.ai and
Replicate. Run on these platforms using your existing
accounts at no additional cost.
-
Project supporters get access to significantly higher resources and custom
Docker images with custom functionality. See the supporter
page for details.
